Call for Online Applications: 2026 Academic Year Faculty Research Project (Seed Project)

The University is now accepting online applications for the 2026 Academic Year Faculty Research Project (Seed Project). Interested faculty members are required to submit the project proposal and relevant documents by 5:00 p.m. on September 30 (Wednesday) in accordance with the application requirements. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

※ In accordance with the relevant guidelines, at least 10% of the project budget must be allocated to capital expenditures. Business expenses may include the use of University or college-level instruments and equipment, data retrieval, and other related commissioned service fees.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Full-time lecturers who are not eligible to apply for government-funded research projects.

  2. Full-time faculty members of the University who have applied for funding from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), or other government agencies but were not awarded funding.

  3. Faculty members who have already received funding from external organizations to carry out research projects are not eligible to apply for this subsidy.

  4. Applicants are required to revise their original research proposal based on the comments provided by the review committee members of the NSTC or MOHW project. This revision will be one of the key criteria in the review process. The proposed budget must also be revised in accordance with the University's regulations and must not exceed NT$300,000.

Application Procedure

  1. Please log in to the University Administrative System, T.3.0.27 – Applied Project Registration, to register and upload the project proposal and relevant documents.

Performance Indicators (KPI)

  1. In accordance with the relevant regulations, faculty members who have received two rounds of funding from the University must submit a journal article when applying for subsequent funding. The article must:

    • Be published under the University's name;

    • List the applicant as the first author or corresponding author;

    • Be related to the content of the funded project; and

    • Be published in a journal indexed by SCIE, SSCI, EI, A&HCI, TSSCI, or THCI Core.

    The published article must also acknowledge the subsidy/project number of this project. If no qualifying publication is produced within two years, the faculty member will no longer be eligible for funding from the third year onward.

  2. Faculty members who receive funding under this project in the current academic year are required to apply for an NSTC research project in the following academic year (2027). The research proposal intended for submission must be submitted to the Office of Research and Development for preliminary review between September and October of the following year.
