NSTC 2027 Science Outreach Activity Program — Applications Now Open

• The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) invites applications for the 2027 Science Outreach Activity Program. Academic and research institutions are encouraged to organize diverse activities that translate scientific knowledge into accessible hands-on activities, demonstrations, or exhibitions. These activities should bring science into everyday life, inspire public interest in scientific exploration, and help participants understand its connections to daily life and social issues.
• Applicants must clearly identify the primary age group of their target audience, such as elementary, junior high, senior high, university and postgraduate students, or the general public, and provide content suited to their needs. In principle, activities should be open to public registration. Additional participant eligibility requirements beyond age may be specified when necessary for the activity’s theme. Institutions are also encouraged to design activities for women, Indigenous peoples, new immigrants, and people with disabilities to expand access to science learning and reduce learning gaps.
• Project duration should be planned according to the activity schedule and must fall within July 1, 2027–August 31, 2028. In principle, projects should not exceed one year and must comply with the NSTC’s guidelines for research project grants. Principal investigators must carefully review all requirements in the attached call for proposals before applying.
• Interested applicants must complete and submit their online applications by January 3, 2027 (KMU’s internal deadline). Please also notify the Office of Research and Development so that applications can be compiled and formally forwarded to the NSTC.
