Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Research | “KMU AI Lunch Table: Conversations on the Future of Smart Medicine” Lecture Series

October 7, 2026 (Wednesday) — Dr. Kun-Ru Lin, Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital

From Data Silos to an Integrated AI Platform: Standardization, Implementation, and Governance in Smart Healthcare at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital

Hello everyone,

Join us for a lunchtime lecture series that brings together innovation, professional insights, and conversation. Over lunch, you can learn about emerging applications of artificial intelligence in digital medicine and exchange ideas with experts in the field.

About the lecture

After years of hospital digitization, data can still remain scattered across separate systems. Drawing on practical experience at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, this lecture will explain how structured medical records, the international HL7 FHIR standard, and LOINC laboratory test mapping can support a hybrid cloud and on-premises data platform. It will also discuss how SMART on FHIR enables clinical staff to develop applications securely.

The lecture will feature real-world examples implemented under the Healthy Taiwan initiative, including 360-degree dashboards for emergency department and cancer patients, AI-assisted imaging consultations, and an AI voice assistant that automatically completes forms. It will also show how departments have used Power Platform low-code tools to automate scheduling, quality management, and other workflows. Finally, the speaker will share approaches to AI risk governance based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Guidelines for the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Institutions, along with practical steps for healthcare professionals, IT and administrative staff, and students.

We welcome colleagues interested in AI and healthcare innovation to register and explore the possibilities of smart medicine together.
