- The International Visegrad Fund (IVF) is an international organization established in 2000, with the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia as its four member countries (hereinafter referred to as the V4 countries). The IVF is dedicated to promoting academic and research exchanges in areas including science and technology, education and culture, youth, and tourism. The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the IVF signed a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation in July 2011. Under the MOU, the two parties promote exchange programs for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers to expand international collaboration between Taiwan and Central European countries, facilitate academic exchange, share research experiences, and foster collaborative efforts to enhance research capacity on both sides. A total of four doctoral students or postdoctoral researchers from Taiwan will be selected to undertake 10–12 months of research and training at research institutions in the V4 countries. The research period may not be divided into multiple periods or extended.
- Research and Training Funding: Funding is provided for transportation, living expenses, and travel accident insurance for researchers undertaking research and training in Europe. Doctoral students will receive NT$900,000 per year (12 months), while postdoctoral researchers will receive NT$1,500,000 per year (12 months). The amount will be calculated on a prorated basis according to the approved research and training period.
