Academia Sinica and the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) will co-organize the academic training course “Writing Successful Fellowship Applications” from October 12 to 15, 2026. We kindly ask you to share this information with senior PhD students and early-career postdoctoral researchers and encourage them to register for the course.
Details:
1. Course Time
2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
2. Course Description
This course is designed to help early-career researchers become familiar with and gain a better understanding of the application process for various research fellowships. The course will cover topics including contacting potential laboratory supervisors, eligibility assessment, hands-on fellowship application writing, and decision-making following the announcement of results, with the aim of increasing participants’ chances of successful applications.
The workshop will include the following:
(1) The course will be conducted entirely in English and will adopt an interactive teaching approach.
(2) Participants are required to attend the entire course and submit a mock fellowship application document prior to the course. Participants who are absent without a valid reason will not be eligible for admission to future training courses organized by Academia Sinica.
(3) Priority will be given to senior PhD students (in the final 2–3 years of their doctoral programs) and early-career postdoctoral researchers (within 2 years of obtaining their doctoral degree).
(4) The course is limited to 20 participants. Registration is open until September 13, 2026 (Friday). Applicants will be evaluated and ranked based on the eligibility criteria established by the instructors and the degree to which they meet the requirements. Academia Sinica reserves the final right to determine the allocation of places and admission.
